The Coop Sales Event features a co-op advertising plan in which Cherokee provides 10% off a one-time
order while paying half of any two-week long promotional campaign organized by retailers and which
exclusively features Cherokee Uniforms and/or Cherokee Footwear.

We'll give you 10% off a one-time order and pay for 50% of your direct mail and print ad space when you run a (minimum) two week exclusive Cherokee/Rockers sale.
Follow just a few easy steps:
- Order Cherokee merchandise with a one-time, at-once order at 10% off.
You can order as much as you want. Fax the order to your
Sales Representative - he will properly code the order. By taking the 10%
discount you commit to steps 2 and 3.
- Hold an exclusive, two-week Cherokee 20% off (or higher) sale.
- Spend at least $500 to promote the sale through newspaper advertising
and/or direct mail. We provide you with cost-efficient post-cards, the option
to overprint your information for free, and co-op the cost of a mailing list.
We also provide ad slicks (customized with your information). Just fill out
the marketing request form.
- Recoup your half of the cost of your ads by providing newspaper tear
sheet(s) and invoices and/or the postal invoices and any other related invoices.

Tips for a Successful Sale
- Advance Notification - Advertise your sale at least two to three weeks in
advance. Many consumers will plan a purchase around a sale.
- Tie-in - Get maximum value out of the sale event co-op funds by tying
your sale into an announcement that you would have to buy media for
anyway (i.e., a store relocation, a grand opening, a store expansion etc.)
- Seasonality - There are times of the year when you are almost expected
to have a sale (Nurses Week, Back-to-School, the Holidays, etc.). Use the
sales event co-op, and you will save 50% of the costs.
- Posters - Use posters (we supply them for free) to not only announce the
sale, but to build the awareness of your store in local hospitals. The posters
are free, help drive traffic, and build your name for the future.
- List Purchase - To maximize the aquisition of new customers, buy a list of
nurses and/or health care providers in your area. We can connect you with
a list vendor and we’ll pick up half the cost.
- E-mail – Use e-mail addresses whenever possible as it’s very cost effective. We'll supply the customized e-card and even provide you with options to help you blast the card to your customers.
- Radio or Billboards – Don't forget radio and billboards, if they have worked for you in the past. Just fax us the script or layout for approval, and we'll pick up half the cost.
- Special Orders – Make sure consumers know they can special order Cherokee merchandise at sale prices during the sale. The increased selection adds value.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are all Cherokee and Rockers products part of this program? Yes, except for Tooniforms, Cherokee
Workwear, Scrub H.Q. and Footwear Accessories.
- Is there any other special information I need to provide? Yes. When you place your order, please
designate the beginning and end date of your 20% Cherokee/Rockers sale. Your order MUST be
placed through your sales representative.
- Can I combine the 10% off with any other promotional offer or discount? No. Your order must be
for at once items only and can only have one ship date. The ship date must be before the sale date.
- If a customer wants an item at the sale that I do not carry, can I special order it for 10% off? Yes,
but only during the sale period.
- Can I run the sale at a hospital or site other than my store? Yes, providing that Cherokee and
Rockers are the only products offered.
- How can I order marketing materials? Simply fill out the enclosed marketing request form to order:
- Post-cards - There are two versions of post-cards to chose from - one has 20%-off pre-printed.
The other version allows for a higher % off to be overprinted. Both styles allow for us to overprint
your information on the cards if you would like. The post cards are free.
- Signage - Two (11”x7” standard fixture signs) and two (14” x 24” window signs) will be
automatically sent to you to help you merchandise your store during the sale. If you would like
additional signage, just request them on the marketing request form.
- Posters - 11”x17” - these are great for announcing your sale at hospitals, and medical/dental
offices. Order as many as you need.
- Newspaper Ad -Art can be requested by e-mailing pmatsumoto@strategicpartners.net or faxing
818-671-2125 (attention: Co-op Program) with the information requested on the Marketing Request Form. If you request it and provide the relevant information
(i.e., store information, sale schedule, which ad format you prefer and newspaper information)
we will be glad to deliver the finished ad for you.
- Can I use my own direct mail pieces and/or newspaper ad? Yes, providing that the piece clearly
states “20% off” (or more) and mentions Cherokee and Rockers. No other brands can be mentioned.
You will need to provide an example of the material for approval prior to the sale. Approval can be
obtained by faxing the piece to 818-671-2125 (attention Co-op Program).
- How do I get reimbursed for my promotional expenses for the sale? Cherokee will credit your
account an amount equal to 50% of your direct mail and/or print ad space costs when you fax your
post office receipt to 818-671-2125 (attention: Co-op Program) or mail it to Cherokee Co-op
Program, 9800 De Soto Avenue, Chatsworth, CA 91311. Please allow 4-6 weeks to post.
- Does Cherokee co-op the cost of a mailing list? How do I purchase a mailing list? Yes, we will
refund 50% of the cost of purchasing a list. If you don't already have a relationship with a list
vendor, you can purchase a mailing list through American Medical Information Inc. The contact is
Bruce Will (phone (800) 888-8717 or email bruce.will@infousa.com). Mention Cherokee Uniforms
Co-op program and he will help you through the process. The list is for one time usage only. Mailing list examples can include:
(1) Nurses within a 10 mile radius of your store (zip code).
(2) Physicians, Dentists, Chiropractor/Podiatrist offices of 5 employees or more within a 15 mile
radius. Cost vary depending on record type, geographic location and number of records, but a
list of 5,000 nurses would be approximately $400. Cherokee would pay 50% when you submit a
copy of the order/ payment confirmation provided by American Medical.
- How much do I have to spend on direct mail and print space? A minimum total of $500 combined.
The maximum amount of promotion spending we will Co-op is $3,000 (equal to a $1,500 credit to
your account).
- How often can I have a sale? You can have one sale per calendar year.

Overprint Options:
Option 1: Request that we do the overprinting for you by using the Marketing Request Form, and have your store info, sale dates and any kind of special promo customization (i.e. Grand Opening) ready.
Option 2: Take the cards to your local print shop and have them print your store address, sale dates and store hours directly onto the cards as shown above.
Addressing:
The label address will have to be printed using regular labels - we recommend using a 1" x 2 5/8" Avery label (avy5160). This can be done by you or through a print shop for an added cost. You will need an excel or a label text file with your customer information. the labels will then have to be applied by hand onto the cards or overprinted by a print shop.
